Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026: Key Dates, Hosts, and Musical Lineup Revealed




The 10th anniversary of the Crunchyroll Anime Awards is set to return to Tokyo, Japan, on May 23, 2026, celebrating the elite creators and talent behind the world's most beloved anime. 

Here is the breakdown of what to expect from the upcoming ceremony:

- Returning Hosts: The main event will once again be led by voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira for their fourth consecutive year.

- Pre-Show & Orange Carpet: The global pre-show and "orange carpet" festivities will be hosted by Crunchyroll's own Lauren Moore and Tim Lyu.

- Special Performances: Highlights include a 30th-anniversary tribute to Neon Genesis Evangelion by singer Yoko Takahashi, who will perform "A Cruel Angel’s Thesis," alongside symphonic suites from the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.

- Voting & Nominees: Fans can begin voting on April 2, 2026, when nominees across 32 categories—such as Anime of the Year and Best New Series—are officially revealed.

- Historical Growth: President Rahul Purini noted that the event has grown from a few million votes in 2017 to tens of millions globally, emphasizing how anime has become a deep part of fans' lives worldwide. 

Last year's ceremony saw Solo Leveling dominate, taking home the Anime of the Year, Best Score, and Best New Series titles.
