Cowabunga Meets Yo Joe: The Ultimate TMNT x G.I. Joe Crossover Revealed

Two of the 1980s' most legendary toy franchises are finally colliding.

Playmates Toys has officially announced a massive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x G.I. Joe crossover line, set to hit shelves exclusively at Target starting in August 2026.

The collection features 4.5- to 5.25-inch figures that reimagine the Ninja Turtles as iconic G.I. Joe specialists.

The "Hero" lineup includes:
Leonardo as the silent ninja Snake Eyes
Raphael as the heavy-gunner Roadblock
Donatello as the communications expert Dial-Tone
Michelangelo as the sailor Shipwreck
April O’Neil as the field intelligence officer Scarlett

The villains aren't being left behind, with sinister combinations that see the Turtles' greatest foes joining the ranks of Cobra:
Shredder takes command as Cobra Commander
Krang suits up as the arms dealer Destro
Slash appears as the rival ninja Storm Shadow
Bebop and Rocksteady join the Dreadnoks as Ripper and Buzzer

No crossover would be complete without iconic transport. Fans can look forward to the Turtle-Fly Copter, featuring katana-shaped helicopter blades and firing missiles, and the A.W.E. Shell-Striker, an all-terrain scout vehicle that includes an exclusive April/Scarlett figure.

This collection carries extra weight for collectors as it serves as Playmates Toys' final major TMNT project. After a historic 37-year run that began in 1988, Playmates will pass the master toy license to Mattel at the end of 2026.

The figures will be presented in retro-themed packaging that blends the classic aesthetics of both original toy lines, offering a high-energy "going out with a bang" for the long-standing partnership.
