As the 22nd entry in the Godzilla franchise, the 1995 film brought the Heisei era to a heart-wrenching close. The story follows a "war-weathered" Burning Godzilla and Godzilla Junior as they face an apocalyptic threat born from the aftermath of the 1954 original. Destoroyah is a creature evolved over 41 years from the effects of the Oxygen Destroyer—the very underwater weapon that killed the first Godzilla.
