He Said He'd Be Back! Terminator 2: Judgment Day Returning to Theaters Worldwide for 35th Anniversary

"Hasta la vista, baby!" Arguably the greatest action sequel ever made is officially preparing to storm back onto the silver screen. In an absolute blockbuster announcement, StudioCanal has partnered with Rialto Pictures and Fathom Entertainment to set a massive 35th anniversary global re-release of Terminator 2: Judgment Day!

The groundbreaking 1991 sci-fi masterpiece will open in United States theaters starting August 28 through September 2, 2026, with rolling global premiere dates strategically aligned to commemorate the film’s infamous in-universe "Judgment Day" of August 29.

A Premium 4K and RealD 3D Experience

This 35th-anniversary release is more than a standard screening, featuring a restored version in stunning 4K and RealD 3D. Director James Cameron recommends this format as the premier way to experience the high-octane action and visual effects of the classic film.

Global Rollout and Ticket Info

The film arrives in US theaters on August 28, 2026, with a global rollout continuing into early September for countries including Australia, the UK, Germany, and more. Tickets go on sale through Fathom Events starting July 17, 2026.
